We got over to the Aiguille de Midi early, but were given 4th tram. Nonetheless, we skied the Couloir des Cosmiques in nice powder and followed it up with a run down the Glacier Rond. Stantonbum was going to ski with us for his last day, but was diverted by his Swedish bud at the 40ยบ slope off the arete.
Rapping into the Cosmiques.
Susan Mol points to the 179s BROs slicing through the iced up top of the Cosmiques.
Skiing the upper couloir.
Look at those carbon BRO 179s dropping into the prime pow on the Cosmiques! 3rd run on them.
Sweet! I guess they work in pow, so now they have been tested on every possible condition and passed with flying colors!
Nice exposure down to the Bossons Glacier.
Mont Blanc provides a nice backdrop.
The lower couloir delivers.
The left exit.
Warm temperatures opened up crevasses on the Bosson Glacier.
Rip van winkle...
The ice fall is easy this year with no huck.
Return to the Plan d'Aiguille in a spectacular setting.
Schralp-a-licious!
Dan schralps.
Steep pow but entering the shot too low...
Getting more pow off the arete at the midi.
The top of the Rond finally filled in.
Skiing the top of the Glacier Rond.
Pointing 'em in the exit couloir.
Jump turns were still relevant.
Dan cleaning up the pow on the exit couloir.
Dan gets some more....
Tom, Liz, and Keith (Praxis Skis) were shredding the "groomers" while powdherb went to French class.
Liz rips...
