Middle Truchas Peak

Micah and I made another pilgrimage into the Pecos Wilderness, this time using a different approach. We had better, more consolidated snow during this trip than either of the two trips that we made last year. And we got to ski another primo line!
We skied from the summit then traversed to the top of the far left ramp/chute next to the little alpine tower formation. Not the one with the big cornice. The chute on the right looks very sweet but it always has a huge cornice.
Micah drops into the line, false summits of Middle Truchas on the left, Truchas Peak on the right.
The snow was perfect.
This one is worth skiing again. Lots of really sweet lines in the Truchas!
Micah skis below the chute with North Truchas and Chimayoso Peak in the background.
Quemado Falls seems like it would be a good ice climb in the winter.
I just might be done skiing until the fall? But they are showing more cool weather and precip in the forecast. Never say never, I guess.
