Lake Peak Laps

Last weekend it snowed about 14" on our local peaks but circumstances kept me from fully taking advantage of it. The good news is that north-facing pow keeps well above 11,000 ft in our desert climate, even when it's sunny and warm all week in the lowlands.
So we hit Lake Peak today. The hike from the top of Ski Santa Fe featured some nasty wind.

We started by skiing the steep trees directly below the summit.
The snow was good.

It was good enough that Micah launched this rock band.

The apron was perfect!

After more very nice turns, we set a skin track to a sub summit and hit more protected powder.
