Lake Peak, Deception Bowl

This is the backcountry accessible 20 minutes up the road from my new hometown, Santa Fe. Skiing in New Mexico is different. We started with a super secret line. Then we scrambled up Lake Peak.
The ski into Deception Bowl seemed like the best thing anywhere close to Santa Fe at the moment.
Micah pushed me then I fell into the isothermal slop in the trees. He offered me his ski pole to help me stand, as if to make amends. I refused. Instant karma struck.
