The Magic S Loop and the Isolation Traverse

Post by Jason Hummel »

So, this is a SKI website right ;-) so Sky, I'm gonna post my version of a fav trip of yours that I skied on the 4th of july. Who needs fireworks; what a classic. I was inspired by Ryan's TR on skisickness as well. Loved it. So, to share here are a few TR's for you guys just so we put the 'ski' back in sickness.

This is one heckuva Spider Mountain route photo!

I called it Alliteration Col because it's betwixt Pelton Peak and Magic Mountain. My pants fit fine so I didn't need any alterations. I don't know whether it has any official name.

I ran into a lady in the Grocery Store here in Los Alamos a few days ago. She was wearing a shirt that said "Isolation Traverse." I talked to her and she did it in 1982. It's a small world.

Ha. Thanks Sky for the name fix. Wow. Didn't know you made it up, then on top of it I messed up your name-placing. LOL. I like the name though.

That's an awesome story about the Isolation. That's an awesome tour. It would be a rad hike as well...and one I hope to do someday as well.
