Found Marbles tour, The Triad -- Kumquat Couloir

Dave B. and I skied the Kumquat (aka Cumshot) couloir (off shoulder of Triad's W summit, aka Little Richard), extending the descent to nearly 4K. We then contoured Marble Cr. Basin to ascend the Lost Marbles couloir and return to the car parked on Sibley Cr. Rd.
The approach entailed views and some sections of deep, steep and exposed snow. That's Little Richard on the right, El Dorado on left. Conditions were sweet, stable powder up high, a bit funky in the middle, and more consistent, good-skiing snow lower. First pic is of the entrance, in the twin sunstreaks just behind the little aiguille. Shenanigans required at the bottom to gain the basin. Photo is Dave's, he's got more good ones and might post... The climb up Lost Marbles for home, was...fun.
It felt good to finally ski Kumquat after a couple early failed attempts with Sky. I agree that this couloir bears repeat visits.
Another of Dave's: More of mine: http://picasaweb.google.com/ewehrly/201 ... directlink
