Shaking off sleeplessness, we cranked up our chosen approach, realizing and grumbling that it was somewhat roundabout. But it was a beautiful sunny day (rare this year) and spirits rose considerably when we saw how well filled in everything was.
The initial rollover entrance to the headwall was precipitous and airy. Exposed and variably icy and wind-packed powdery pucker turns gave way to super steep puckery powder turns.
We enjoyed the ski down. An icy chute midway caused consternation, but in general the route was in incredible shape. The Puget Sound was visible.
I imagine this will be in shape for quite a while longer this season.
