Alpine Dickery

Since the alps are experiencing the worst snow since Al Gore invented Global Warming right after his internet trip, Daizy and I have been practicing some unorthodox suffering. Typical routines include cheese-gorging, followed by icy randonees and failed alpine experiments in cold-snap wind events.

If I missed the last lift down, I was going to quit climbing for good (again). Luckily I left enough cordalette to fashion a noose or tit-prusik for this highly probable outcome.

Overall, it was quite fun. I like snow-on-rock climbing. We must do more.

Snow you bastard, just snow.

Is that the Arete des Cosmiques? Seriously, hope it snows for you.

Woe is me, I live near the Mont Blanc massif and I'm not powder skiing.

Don't let Lurie see this thread, he's likely to fling pieces of flesh peeled off his toes across the Atlantic, landing with a sticky plop in the pot of Fawn Do you're sharing with your lovely blond girlfriend.

Things are funky in WA, too. Hagerty is going to Vantage, I'm considering suicide by ball-prusik, and I hear the nordic skiing has been pretty good.

Meanwhile in the Coast Range Sky laughs to himself....

Yes. At least when you hit rock-bottom the only way out is up.
