Might it be a good idea to move the climbing reports into a climbing forum to make way for this year's ski reports?

I was just going to make new forums for calendar years, but I'm happy to make separate forums for skiing and climbing if that's what people want. I take it you vote to have separate skiing and climbing forums.

Anybody else have an opinion?

Yup, separation keeps the topics pure and seasonal...

I'm not sure you need to change the calendar years. It just makes it harder for users to navigate and administrators to configure.

Your suggestion sounds reasonable. Does anybody else have an opinion? I could make separate forums for skiing and climbing and ditch the date on the forum.

I prefer separate skiing and climbing forums.

All right, I'll give it until tonight or tomorrow morning; if I don't get any opinions otherwise, I'm going to implement jumpturn's suggestion.

I don't think there's enough traffic yet for stuff to get crowded enough to warrant the move, so I'd vote against the re-org.

I kinda see it as all the same. Climbing something somewhere often leads to skiing something somewhere nearby.

The ideal future I see for this forum: Organized by continent.

I retract my previous opinion in deference to Drew's vision. This site should be different. But still organized. By continent seems to broad though. By Country too arbitrary. By style too limiting. Where am i gonna post my TR for when I climb Forbidden's north ridge with skis on my back, for example? I don't know, i guess at some level all useful organization is arbitrary. Maybe float the idea a bit more before making the call. By range might by nice...

I have a proposal to please all parties to some degree.

I might get rid of the 2010 and make the forum just Trip Reports.

I'm thinking about adding another forum or two but I'll do it when I do it and you can tell me how you feel about it when that time comes.
