Glacier du Milieu Drew skis the Glacier du Milieu

Aiguille d'Argentiere Aiguille d'Argentière from the top of Les Grands Montets

We toured from Argentière, starting on skins under stars, wanting to truly experience the vertical relief. And Ryan and I were broke. Plus that would be the paradoxically proud Washington way? Ha ha, we were hitting it from-the-Chamonix-Valley style before Greg Hill.

The original plan was to go up-and-over the Aiguille d'Argentière, ski the Barbey Couloir, and descend to Le Tour. The weather deteriorated during our ascent, so the known return option seemed safer.

The Glacier du Milieu was better than consolation. It felt good to have skied from a summit and to have seen some scenery.
