Mas Truchas

Post by skykilo »

Skied in the Truchas again last Sunday. Pretty good for last day of May in New Mexico. Only problem was the recent new snow made the objective untenable. But still lots of good turns.

5.5 miles from the car to those lakes down there.

Too much fresh snow, slow progress.

Clouds weren't cooperating with these photos but the turns were really good.

We skied a very fun chute to Trampas Lakes this time.

I thought this was going to be food related too. More Trout! I have discovered a tasty ski snack thanks to a friend. Canned Herring. Delicious. Mas Arenque!

Nice turns. Was that a 5 mile bush whack? or 5 miles of pleasant strolling? Did Micah have pants that were torn into shorts by the bush?

It's a nice trail. But it still feels like too much hiking to ski. My how the years have changed my perspective.

We did have a nice tin of smoked trout and some tasty New Mexico brewed IPAs at the trailhead. I highly recommended La Cumbre Elevated IPA if you ever get the chance to try one on the left coast.
