Sunday, good to be home

Post by skykilo »

I was in Orange County, California for a conference last week. It's nice enough there, but it felt good to be home on Sunday. A Santa Fe crew was at one of my favorite White Rock crags, so I got a leisurely crack-of-noon start and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Below the Old New Place.

This place has gone to the dogs.

I did Wailing Banshees as a "warm up" (cruised it, you know) then I tethered myself to get photos of Patrick and Kevin on two of the area's more classic 5.11s.

Patrick and Kevin started with Manic Crack/Left Twin Crack.

The hand jam is nice and it is wise to use it as a "rest" before the finale.

Here Kevin moves into the crux.

Almost there....

I managed to send Sardonic Smile. All in all, a lovely day. Good to meet you, Chad and Micah and Rachel.

Do you have an itinerary? Thanksgiving? I really hope to make it that way to meet you.
