Mt Shuksan route topos (looking for feedback)

With all the interesting routes being skied on Mt Shuksan lately, I decided to start something new in my ski history project. I've created topo diagrams of ski routes on Shuksan to clarify written descriptions and seek corrections. I suspect that more diagrams will eventually be needed for other major peaks. Here's the link:

Here's a teaser:

These diagrams are intended as a historical record not as a guidebook. Please send corrections. That's what it's for!

I really like it, Lowell. I don't see any mistakes as far as any of the routes I've skied. It's your choice, but it might be noteworthy to include the direct descent to the saddle below the North Face skied by Sam Avaiusini and Bill Frans in the spring of '99. I wonder how that looks right now.

Also, if you or anybody else on here is interested in either a public or private forum dedicated to more historical/documentation type threads, I'd be game.

Lowell, I had sent you at one point the name of a guy who had skied one of the Curtis Glacier routes several years ago. I'm not sure if you checked into that? Otherwise, cool stuff like I said. A better route pic of the southwest face would be nice, something that better shows the face. If you want one from me, I can provide.

Thanks Sky. Do you have a description or photo of the NF variation that Sam and Bill skied? I'm not clear on where they went.

Jason, I still have the name of the guy you mentioned. It's on my to-do list and I just haven't gotten around to following up. Thanks for sending it. If you have a better picture of the SW Face, I'd be interested to see it. I didn't know where to find a better picture, so I used the best Scurlock shot that I could find.

I believe what they skied is essentially a plum line to the saddle below the North Face, as opposed to going skier's right down the gully and onto the hanging/pocket glacier there. I'll draw a line on a photo later. It used to be on there but I think Sam's website is gone.

Here is the line skied by Bill and Sam, I believe.

Okay, I added another picture showing the north face routes only. I drew in a line for Sam and Bill's route, based on my best guess of where it would be skiable. I'll try to contact Sam and Bill to see if it's correct. Here's the image (which I can easily change if it's wrong):

I think your line there probably errs a little in the skier's left direction at the bottom (cliff looks big there), but definitely get the word from Bill or Sam.

I really like what you're doing and it would also be great to see for at least Rainier and Adams and as many other big peaks as you see fit to illustrate like so. Bravo.

Lowell, I'll try and get a pic over to you soon. I believe I have one. If not, I'll get out there and get one!

After corresponding with Sam, I've redrawn the line a bit farther east through the lower cliffy area. Sam couldn't remember exactly where they went, but he thought it was around where I've now drawn it.

Cool just stumbled upon this. Great info on Shuksan ski lines.
