This year it was a border-crossing birthday spanking.
A pleasant start after a few hours on skins.
A faraway mountain
E_$ skis toward Thunder Lake.
Not nearly early enough the next morning, glad we didn't take that drainage.
My working hypothesis, once again verified. We cross the border swath into the USA and life begins to suck.
Bailing, tucking tail, discretion is the better part of valor: too bad we didn't have any discretion during the two preceding days.

This one demands another look, too.
We bailed. We did not climb anything. Here, E_$ enjoys powder before we make circles in the flat valley for an hour, contemplate my compass and which arrow goes with north, and finally reach the car well after midnight.
